I had just earned my contractor's license when I was hired to remodel the B-OSS building. After the first week I felt overwhelmed and wanted to quit. Hector told me to take a week off and come back to finish the job. Like a lot of new business owners, I was scared of the unknown — but with that guidance I came back, and I finished what is now B-OSS.
I was selling food out of my backyard when I heard about the Mercado Rosa workshop. I attended, and with the guidance I received I earned my Cottage Food permit. Now I sell at farmers markets across the area — including Mercado Rosa itself.
B-OSS and its mission to support local entrepreneurs are making headlines across Sonoma County.
Fueled by up to $4.5 million from Sonoma County's public power agency, B-OSS is preparing to launch an ambitious initiative to streamline permitting for small business owners from minority and underserved communities — setting up shop in a newly purchased three-story building in downtown Santa Rosa.
